Granted, at first you're not going to make alot, but with time you can build up to a substantial cash flow. Basically, Bux.to is place where online retailers and other merchants and online marketers submit advertisements of their products, whether they be tangible in nature, or merely information products. Bux.to runs the ads in order to get them immediate and plentiful visibility.

How it works: You click on ads and wait for 30 seconds. Then it registers a payment of $0.01 into your account. I know, it's nothing, but the key to making the real money, as with all of these paid-per-click scenarios is the referrals. With Bux.to you can refer as many people as you want. You can refer friends and family members, virtually anyone you want. I've seen people put up tutorials on Youtube.com explaining the registration process along with their referral link. In this posting I also have my referral link.
I hope you'll click on it as a gesture of good faith. I sure could use the referrals. You'll also get a referral link of your own when you join the site so you can start boosting your income. It's great because you earn $0.01 for every ad that each of your referrals clicks.

Bux.to will post a minimum of 30 ad links a day (click on the "search ads" link on their home page). When you click on an ad it opens another browser window and starts to countdown from 30 seconds. The ad must stay open for 30 seconds for you to be credited with the $0.01. When the ad time is complete a green check mark will appear, signaling you were credited with $0.01. Every time one of your referrals does the same thing, you get paid $0.01. Here's an example that Bux.to uses to highlight the process I just discussed.

This is on their Welcome page:

Welcome to Bux.to!
At Bux.to, you get paid to click on ads and visit websites. The process is easy! You simply click a link and view a website for 30 seconds to earn money. You can earn even more by referring friends. You'll get paid $0.01 for each website you personally view and $0.01 for each website your referrals view. Payment requests can be made every day and are processed through PayPal.

The minimum payout is $10.00. (Please bear in mind that these kinds of sites tend to pay slow, which could be on average between 30 and 45 days. So if you need quick cash this is probably not a good choice. However, be patient. It'll take a while to build up your referral network, but once that's done, everything's gravy).

Earnings Example
» You click 10 ads per day = $0.10
» 20 referrals click 10 ads per day = $2.00
» Your daily earnings = $2.10
» Your weekly earnings = $14.70
» Your monthly earnings = $63.00

The above example is based only on 20 referrals and 10 daily clicks. Some days you will have more clicks available, some days you will have less. What if you had more referrals? What if there were more ads available?

Join now and receive a $0.05 Sign-up Bonus "

REFERRALS
Now, you don't have to completely exhaust your list of friends and family members as referrals, or pound the pavement to get people to join. If you're like me and have no friends....lol, you can purchase referrals. Here are some packages that Bux.to offers. These are lifetime referrals so as long as they keep clicking you keep earning.

Bux.to offers 4 referral packages:
- 15 Members for $16.98 = $1.14 per referral
- 35 Members for $34.95 and save 10% = $1
- 100 Members for $98.00 ($5 creditback) = $0.93
- 500 un-referred Members! $459 = $0.928

As with most purchases, buying in bulk saves you money. You may use your Visa/MasterCard or AlertPay account to buy the referrals, and they will be credited to your account within 2 days. Many people have had success with these packages and discuss their success online. If you're unsure, try searching for some testimonials online. They'll get you motivated to make money using this system!

Obviously the most lucrative referral package is the 500 members one. Following the same logic as the homepage example above, if you just relied on your purchaed 500 members you're earning profile would look like this:

Initial Investment = $459
» You click 10 ads per day = $0.10
» 500 referrals click 10 ads per day = $50.00
» Your daily earnings = $50.10
» Your weekly earnings = $350.70
» Your monthly earnings = $1,402.80
1 month's profit = $943.80!!!!

Even if only half of your referrals clicked half of the 10 ads per day you'd recover your initial investment in about a month and a half.

Now, just think what would happen if you continued to purchase referral packages. You could be pulling in a full-time income without having to do any work. You may even be able to quite that dull 9-5 job and sit on your ass at home. That's what my goal is.

Simple Internet Income Stream - SendEarnings

Unlike Bux.to, where you only click on ads to make money, Send Earnings offers multiple means of generating an internet income stream. With Send Earnings you have 6 ways of making money - Paid Emails, Cash Offers, Cash Surveys, Cash Games, Cash Shopping, and of course and probably the most lucrative means, REFERRALS - all of which can provide you with bountiful internet cash flow opportunities. I can't stress it enough when it comes to getting referrals so I'm going to discuss this first and follow with brief points about the other means. Right off the bat though, Send Earnings will credit your "account" with $5 just for signing up. In order withdraw any money you need to have built up at least $30 in earnings. So even though they are giving you $5 for free you need to invest some time and possibly money to get the full $30 check. Your first order of business when first starting out with Send Earnings is to get to $30 as quickly as possible. Once you reach $30 and they process your first payment, you are automatically upgraded to Gold Membership. Gold Membership will allow you to take advantage of exclusive Gold Member offerings, make you eligible for special sweepstakes, and help you earn more rewards with referrals. This is where more benefits accrue to you which is the name of the game - earning as much as possible in the shortest amount of time with the least amount of effort. You'll want to have Send Earnings as one of your premier internet income streams.

When your referrals request payment for their $30 check you will get credited with $3!!!! Just think what it would be like having hundreds of diligent referrals.

Referrals
Send Earnings will pay you 10% on everything your referrals make under the following methods: completing offers, taking surveys, playing games and shopping online. This will NOT reduce your referral's earnings at all. Your referrals will still be credited the full amount, while you make 10%. This is by far the best way to make money with this site, especially if you're like me and just like to kick back and relax and not work too hard. In order to refer people you can do either of these two things: You can visit their "referral center" and enter the name(s) and email(s) of your referral(s). Or, if you're like me and don't know alot of people and don't like soliciting for referrals you can place reviews online in forums or create your own site and place a banner ad in your signature or within your website. When someone clicks on the ad and registers, Send Earnings will track their usage and credit you with 10% on the aforementioned methods. Unfortunately, you will not get 10% from them simply registering, but at least you'll earn when they start to actually use the site. So take advantage of the referral method and watch the cash inflow. To get to that $30 minimum faster you can try these other methods.

Paid Emails
These are very simple to make money on but don't expect to make anything serious. Send Earnings will email you about 2 or 3 ads a day that you'll need to click. Another window will pop-up with the ad and you'll need to click a link that confirms you've read the email. These will net you $0.02 an ad. If you only relied on these it'll take you a year to get to $30. My suggestion is to get aggressive and check out the other Send Earnings means of making money.

Cash Offers and Cash Shopping
Cash Offers and Cash Shopping are those where you make some kind of purchase through the Send Earnings site and get money back. Examples can range from signing up to receive a personal credit report, signing up for trial offers for NetFlix, purchasing magazine subscriptions, etc. All cash offers require you to make some kind of initial investment, whether it's a one time credit card purchase or a recurring monthly charge on your credit card, bank account, or other payment means. However, a lot of these cash offers return you $10 back on average. If you were planning on purchasing something online you might want to check the site to see what their current offerings are before doing so elsewhere.

Cash Surveys
Cash Surveys are very time consuming and probably not the most efficient use of your time if you're looking to create autopilot internet income. Most surveys pay you $0.50when completed and can take up to 20 minutes. Even before you get to the survey you are asked a bunch of questions to weed out those people that don't fit that particular survey focus group. My advice is to leave these alone. Instead, focus on building your referral base and take advantage of the cash offers and cash games, which I'm going to talk about now.

Cash Games
I've found that Cash Games will allow you to build your account balance very quickly. Granted, you'll have to fork over some cash upfront in order to have a chance to win some money. But, if you love gaming and don't mind the initial upfront cash deposits then you'll benefit greatly. You could win a bundle and build your Send Earnings account balance at the same time. When you first create a cash account through Cash Games you'll be awarded between $10 and $20 of free money to play with. You can deposit money via credit card or Paypal. As you play, you'll obviously win some and lose some, but all the while you will be credited with some cash in your Send Earnings account. It's not much compared to what you have to wager each time, but if you play every day for an hour or two you'll most likely get to that coveted $30 mark within a two week period. However, as the objective is to get to that $30 and your first check as soon as possible, you can then start to taper off your game playing, unless of course you enjoy it as much as I do!

Back to the Gold Membership
As I mentioned earlier there are alot of benefits to becoming a Gold Member. Another one is that you'll receive unsolicited referrals who'll continue to provide you with another income stream. Without added work on your part, when a member joins without being referred, that person gets placed into a pool of referrals and you can be assigned that person as your referral now! It's easy and there's no work involved. You get automatic referrals who'll now start making money for you!

My suggestion is to try out Send Earnings. Let me know how it goes. Good Luck!!!

Create an Income Stream - Introduction to Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is the process of selling other people's products and earning a commission in return for whatever you sell. By selling other people's products you never have to hold any inventory or create products of your own to sell. By signing up for an affiliate marketing account you are allowed access to a whole database of potential digital products to sell. You can sell them by creating a website and writing reviews on the products that you're promoting. It helps to know a little about what you're promoting. But you don't have to buy it and try it to even be able to sell it. Within the affiliate marketing provider's website, the most popular one being Clickbank, you can decide which product you want to promote. Picking one is easy because, when you click on the product's link right in Clickbank, up will pop another window taking you to the product's sales page. From there you'll learn about the product and decide if it's right for you. Once you've picked one, Clickbank will give you a unique user code, and HTML code, which will act as a unique identifier for only you so that when someone clicks on your HTML link in your website or blog, Clickbank will recognize it as you and properly credit commissions to you, in the event someone does purchase the product you are promoting. Commissions can be as high as 90%, in some cases.

Here's how the process works:
You sign up at Clickbank, for example, to promote certain products and receive a unique link that has a tracking code in it. This code is unique to your account, and it will track if and when any sales are made from your unique affiliate link. You simply drive traffic to that affiliate link, and any sales commissions that result are transferred immediately into your account. You can build a website or do a product review on a blog and encode your affiliate link for that particular product right into the text of your postings. When someone clicks on the link it will automatically take them to the same sales page you saw when you were first deciding which product to choose. From there it's up to the customer to decide if they want to purchase. If they do you get paid a commission. You don't have to limit yourself to one product. You can promote as many as you want and have the time to promote.

So try it out and see for yourself.

Debt Is Slavery - Book Review

The following is my review of the book entitled, "Debt Is Slavery" by Michael Mihalik

Don't let the size of the book (only about 90 pages) fool you. It cuts out the bull and gets right down to the nitty gritty. Below, I give a Chapter by Chapter look at what this book is all about. If you're in debt or know someone who is I implore you to purchase this book. Think of it as an investment in your financial future. Here we go:

Chapter 1 - Debt is Slavery
The author takes his argument to the extreme by suggesting that any kind of debt, even that which you might use to get your through college is a bad thing. His rationale in doing so is to highlight the fact that ANY kind of debt is bad because it will stop you from doing what you want to do in life. Sure, you'll have a great paying job after you graduate but you're working to pay off the school debt as well as others that accumulate naturally as a result of having new found money. Solution: You want to ideally get to the point where you have ZERO debts. As long as you are working towards that goal and you only read the first chapter, you've learned something from the book.

Chapter 2 - Time May Not Be Money, But Money Definitely Is Time
The crux of this chapter is about getting to recognize that your time is more valuable than the money you're earning for trading your hours for dollars. He uses some thought-provoking examples.

Chapter 3 - Possessions Are a Prison
The third chapter brings another stern point - that the most valuable parts of your life aren’t things, but experiences. Thus, the stuff you buy is effectively paid for by lost experiences. Think of all the times you wasted money on something that you thought you "needed" only to find that you could have spent it to learn mountain climbing, to take a much needed vacation, or to do some home repairs?

Chapter 4 - Be Aware of the Ongoing Campaign to Separate You from Your Money
This chapter talks a lot about something I'm constantly railing against - The societal hypnosis that tells you you need something when in actuality you don't. But you succumb to the hypnosis and buy that product. Marketing is a whole industry based upon making every attempt to steal your money from you, but of course, they don't have to steal, they only have to convince you and you'll be more than willing to part with your hard earned money.

Chapter 5 - Money Buys Freedom
YES!!! This is the point that you want to get to. You want to have enough money and/or be at the point where you don't need as much money in order to do the things you want to do. Many people make alot of money but don't have the time to enjoy it because they're constantly busy making more money to pay for their debts.
Think about it this way: If you can get by with spending only 50% of your income each month, then you only have to work half the time, or if you can get by with only spending 25% of your income, you only have to work one quarter of the time!!! You could quit your full-time job and work part-time and spend the rest of the time working on your personal development. It becomes easier to do things like take a leave of absence from your job to travel the world, go back to school, spend more time with your family, etc.

Chapter 6 - Don’t Sell Your Soul For A Salary
Being in debt will cause you to do irrational and unnatural things like wanting to wake up at 6am, jump in the shower, and run/drive/walk/whatever really fast to a job you hate. You fear losing that job because you won't be able to pay your bills so you forgo your happiness and freedom by giving someone else your time. Your life is short, yet you'll be living the dreams of someone else when you owe money. When you are debt free you have the freedom to pursue your passions in life.

Chapter 7 - Own
The emphasis here is on buying instead of leasing or renting. When you buy you tend to maintain better what you own, thereby, allowing it to last longer. From there you derive more benefit from ownership and are less inclined to look for that "new" car or bigger home.

Chapter 8 - Spend Less Than You Earn By Controlling Your Expenses
Here's where you learn to take a hard look at every monthly expense you have and to cut out those you can live without.

Chapter 9 - Save 50 Percent of Your Salary
Yes, it can be done and the author provides some real-life examples of people who have done just that. Of course, if you're knee deep in debt you will want to get out of debt first before trying this. With help from the strategies in the previous chapters you can get there.

Chapter 10 - Control Your Money or Your Money Will Control You
Provides a systematic method of going about figuring out your monthly income and matching that with your monthly expenses and derives a savings amount from that which you will start saving towards your first month.

Chapter 11 - A Bonus
You’re never as young again as you are right now, so why not get started?

Financial Crisis and How it Happened - Prepare Yourself!!!

Peter Schiff, Ron Paul's former financial advisor, tells us how in the hell we got to where we are now with the current financial crisis. This is what the mainstream, corporate controlled media won't tell you. It's not your fault, it was designed to happen so the powers in charge could destroy your wealth and transfer it to themselves. But they want you to think it was because of your stupidity. If you're like most people you invested heavily in the stock market at the behest of your corporate masters as they dangled that pitiful 401K match carrot in front of you. I know because I fell for the trick too. Well, what a way to transfer the wealth from the working class to the rich folk. The investment bankers made a hell of a lot of money selling you the charade of pouring your money into the paper casino they call a stock market. Boy have we been had. They Madoff...I mean, made off with their commissions off of securities sales, account management fees, and whatever other fee they instituted to justify their existence. And, 401Ks are just the tip of the iceberg. Anyway, this is going to turn into a rant unless I focus on what I'm about the tell you. Forget the damn 401K and stock market. The 401K was created as a way for corporations to get out of paying you a pension. See many companies around that offer pensions??? NO!!! Get with the program. From now on I want you to do the complete opposite of what these financial industry "insiders" tell you to do. So, what about 2009? How can you invest what little money you have left?

You have to prepare yourself in some way to stop taking on debt and/or to get out of debt as much as possible. You don’t want to be buying real estate or committing yourself to a financing relationship when asset prices still haven't bottomed out and you're leaving yourself open to market risk. You want to be investing in real resources: Gold, Silver, Guns, Ammunition, food cache building, etc. You can't be putting money into your 401K and hope that the new year will bring new found wealth. It's over! Hunker down and get back to basics. You need to acquire items that people assign some value to; something you can barter with in bad times.

The Fed has committed to $8.5 trillion of taxpayers’ money to bail out the worst run companies and banks. Banks are not lending to those who need it the most - well run manufacturing companies and entrepreneurs. Now the Fed Funds rate is between 0% and 0.25% for funds for banks, which means if you go down and you pay $100,000 for a T-bill for 90 days, your return is zero, which is to imply that there is zero risk to investing with the government. But, the U.S is going to default on its debts to the world and will try to print money as fast as it can to pay them off. This will cause a death spiral where they can't print money fast enough, and the money they do print will flood into circulation, thereby diluting the already beaten down value of the dollar. We're going to see hyperinflation Zimbabwe style. You need gold and silver to use as currency to buy essential items. Paper money will be worthless.

You need to start rethinking your livelihood or the way(s) you make a buck. Our forefathers were jacks of all trades. They knew farming, carpentry, homesteading, gardening. Those skills have been lost to large corporations who do it all for us now. We need to get back to basics. If you're working full time go back to school on the weekends and learn a valuable and necessary trade. Learn welding, mechanics, machine tooling - skills that you can use to fix or build things and that you can trade for food or other essentials.

How To Save Money in 2009

If you thought 2008 was a crappy year for your money, you can bet we're going to get more of the same in 2009, or maybe worse. Wait until the criminals in Washington and the FED get that bailout money (read: gift to their corporate executive friends and banksters) into circulation, the dollar will crash and inflation will soar. The key to protecting your money (real money, not that fiat paper money crap that's going to be useful only for wiping your ass with) is imperative in the coming year. This article is a good start, but I'd be cautious in believing anything that comes out of a plastic mouthpiece that shills for the corporate-sponsored mainstream media. It submits 10 ways to save money in 2009. Below, however, I provide my own list and there's only 5, which makes things easier to remember. Plus I'm lazy and don't have a shill for the financial industry dreaming up ideas for me. Here is my list of Ways to Save Money in 2009:

1. Buy Gold, Silver, Guns, Ammunition, and anything else that holds it's value.

The whole idea behind this is to protect your already accumulated paper wealth and convert it into hard assets that sustain their value in tough times. Putting your money in a savings account is nice and traditional, but you're doing yourself more harm than good because, while inflation is rising and interest rates are falling, you're going to lose out. Unless you've got millions in savings accounts, that 3% annual yield isn't going to buy you much. The interest you get will be a pittance and you could be building wealth by putting it into hard assets. You've got to put your money in things that are historically good stores of value, such as gold, silver, and guns. The paper money system that we currently live under is doomed to fail in 2009. Your cash will be good for only one thing and that's wiping your ass with it. You need to get tough and buckle down. When you buy gold, silver, and guns you are making an investment in yours and your family's future. Gold and silver prices will sour as the FED continues to print bailout money and the system collapses. Guns and ammunition are essential in the event The Shit Hits The Fan. You'll need them to protect your home, property, and family from those who get desperate in desperate times and try to steal from you or hurt you. Plus, they are great to barter with if you need supplies. Gold and silver can be used to barter with and are easily liquidated if you need quick cash. As prices soar you'll be earning a much higher inflation adjusted return on your money than if you were to hoard cash.

2. Get your money out of the stock market now.

If you haven't already noticed, everyone who was invested in the stock market in any way, shape, or form lost a substantial chunk of savings. Stop listening to these "financial gurus" who say to wait out the storm and who peddle that thoroughly discredited mantra of "historically stocks return on average 10% over the long-term". YEAH!!! Maybe 10 to 20 years ago. These are the same hucksters that got us into this financial mess. Be smart, cut your losses, and get the hell out now. Refer back to #1.

3. Stop buying worthless material crap.

Stop going to the mall every weekend and buying stupid crap the corporations and advertising agencies tell you you need to live a comfortable life. Keeping up with the Joneses has never been more costly than now. You could lose your job and livelihood at anytime. Do you really need the 50" flat screen plasma TV? You have to fight back with your wallet. Stop making other people rich off your gullibility and stick it to the man by saying NO. Besides, everything ends up in either the county dump or a thrift store.

4. Don't buy a new car.

Even though the current market environment for new vehicle purchases favors the buyer, this is one item you should never get new. A brand new car can depreciate by more than 20% as soon as you drive it off the lot because now it's considered a "used car". New doesn't always translate into better. I've had my 2001 Jeep Cherokee for 8 years now (however, I did buy it brand new). But, I've gotten wise to the fact that a car will treat you as well as you treat it. You can take an old car and transform it into a reliable piece of hardware by making sure you are up on its regualrly scheduled maintenance. A car turns to shit when you neglect it's most basic needs. I've got over 130,000 miles on my Jeep and it runs like a charm. Of course, some minor problems have occurred but I don't mind paying the money for repairs because I know I'll be saving money in the long run. I look at regular maintenance as an investment in my future. My Jeep has served me well and will continue to do so for a few more years. If you intend to purchase a vehicle in 2009 please consider a pre-owned (i.e. used) vehicle. Why would you want to buy a new one knowing you'll be owing more on it as soon as you drive it off the lot, than you would if you had let someone else suffer the depreciation?

5. Become frugal

Shopping at thrift stores and buying second-hand goods from online auction sites is a good start, but it's not the be-all-end-all to your methodology of saving money in the New Year. To explain the various ways you can live a frugal lifestyle within this blog would not do them justice. There are many useful forums our there that will help to get you started. Here are some sites I've seen in the past couple of years that I feel are the best:

http://www.frugalvillage.com

http://www.frugalsquirrels.com

http://www.totallyfrugal.com

The American Dream is DEAD and What to Do About It

That's true folks! The so-called American Dream is dead. You know, the one that says study hard, go to college, get a good job, and work there for the next 40 years, retire with a pension, IRA, 401(k), Social Security, whatever - the proverbial nest egg - and live out the rest of your days in a warm climate (traditionally Florida...lol) with a summer home back in your home town, and get waited on hand and foot by those who are now working and contributing to the biggest Ponzi Scheme on Earth - Social Security - play some golf, spend time with your sons and daughters, grandchildren, (insert your own retirement wish list), etc. etc.

For the past 50 years, we've been sold the myth that is called RETIREMENT. Well, retirement is dead along with the American Dream. You don't believe me? Have you checked your 401K lately? Been laid off recently? To say that 2008 was a tough year is the largest absurd understatement in the history of understatements. It wasn't hard, it was devastating. And 2009 isn't going to be much better either. In fact, some say it's going to be worse. We're headed for another swath of residential foreclosures, as well as commercial foreclosures once the brick-and-mortar retailers go under and are forced to declare bankruptcy. With millions of illegal aliens crossing our borders every year unchallenged we are seeing the birth of a new labor dynamic - low cost, poorly-skilled/educated labor and no corporate accountability replacing a highly skilled/educated labor pool earning their historically hard-fought benefits and a loyal corporate structure. What's left of America's burgeoning manufacturing sector is a service economy. A "service" economy is a euphemism for "wage-slave" economy where the aforementioned cheap labor pool pushes wages downward and causes the general quality of life, that which Americans once held dear, down the crapper. By driving down wages, people's purchasing power is now decimated. They can longer pay their mortgages, they have to sacrifice time with family to work at a second and/or third job, they can no longer afford a reliable car, they can no longer find work that will provide health care coverage and they can't afford the ever-increasing health care costs, and sometimes they end up moving back home with family just to survive.

So what can you do about it??? What if you don't have a job and have no money???

There are many things you can do for money and all that are well within the legal limits of the law. You don't need to resort to drastic measures to survive. You can capitalize on your creative imagination. Here's a handy dandy list of what you can do to get started. You can use this as a way to spark that creative genious inside of you. Please feel free to comment and add suggestions of your own for the benefit of my readership.....

1. GROW A GARDEN AND SELL YOUR PRODUCE.
If you have a small plot of land this is doable. You can grow fruits and vegetables and sell them at local Farmer's markets. Plus, you'll be saving money on groceries and will be eating healthier. Hopefully that will translate into being a little bit richer and healthier at the same time.

2. BECOME A BARTENDER.
I did this last summer when I was strapped for cash. You can get certified in one week for about $400. In down times people turn to the social establishments like pubs and bars to stay close to friends and to drink their miseries away. It's sad but true. You can earn at least $100 per shift at a busy bar which will pay for your course in about 4 working days and give you a skill that's in high demand. I did this and I only work one night a week for 4 hours and make $100 cash tips alone. That's $5,200 in extra cash every year for basically having fun.

3. SELL STUFF ON EBAY.
I know....This is so cliche. But it works. Aside from what it costs to list the item, to pay Ebay's commission, and to give Paypal their cut, it's a sure way to make decent money. I sold alot of books and jewelry there when I needed quick cash. Believe me, even though you may have stuff you don't think will sell, it will!!! Trust me. For everything you have there's someone out there who wants it.

4. START A BLOG.
The idea behind this is to get involved with blogging about your hobbies and interests. Just like with Ebay, there's always someone out there who's interested in what you're interested in. Start up a blog with blogger - it's free and easy. Start writing effectively and often. Once you've got a bunch of postings, do some research online to figure out how to make money at it. You can sign up for Google Adsense and put ads on your blog where you can get paid every time someone clicks on your ad. Also, when you develop strong enough traffic you can look into selling advertisement space on your blog. There's virtually limitless ways of making money online.

Protect Yourself and Family From Credit Cards

Stop being a debt slave and get out of debt no matter what it takes. Stop buying into the idea that you need a credit card. When I was in college I was constantly bombarded by on-campus advertisements for pre-approved lines of credit and credit cards. I never was interested in them because I always bought things with cash and was being supported financially by my parents. It wasn't until after college that I fell into the trap. They'll get you sooner or later, it's only a matter of time. Well, this on-campus onslaught is by design. You see, the credit card companies can prey upon your children while they are away at some distant college in an unfamiliar land where they are no longer in your sight and you can't supervise what they do. The college campus is now a breeding ground for these filth peddling debt vultures waiting to prey upon your children and offer them "no-fee", "no-hassle", "spend as much as you want because, hey, your parents can afford to pay your tuition so they'll be able to pay off your debt if you get in trouble" plastic slices of wage servitude. That's right, all of those dollars you spend on tuition, room and board, and books, always in some way or another make it back to the credit card companies as a fee for thanking them for showing up to promote a life full of wage slavery once they get into the "real world" and start making that hefty $30,000 salary that only a good $100K college education can provide. Instead, start paying with cash or go without, PERIOD!!! When you make a purchase and whip out the cash to pay for it you'll think alot more before doing so than you would with whipping out that piece of plastic. Bear in mind that when you pay for something on credit you are letting the banks and credit card companies win over you. You cheat yourself out of a financial future of self-reliance and dignity, and replace it with one of servitude to your job, time away from your family, and medical problems, not to mention that that $10.00 lunch now costs you $30.00 when figuring in interest charges and late fees. I know what I'm talking about because when I got out of grad school and started making more money I charged things left and right, thinking that I'm still young and can handle it. I kept telling myself that I could pay the debt down, but then in just 5 years time I had accumulated $26,000 in credit card debt. Most of what I'm telling you here works and I'm living proof. It's taken me two years but I've cut it down in half. Believe me, no matter what situation you're in, you can change it for the better. What did I do to get my debt down? I moved out of my $1500/month rented condo into a studio basement apartment where I only pay $825/month, utilities included. I stopped buying crap that I once thought I needed and started to shop more at thrift stores and online auction houses. I started paying with cash and cut up all my credit cards except for one, which I use for incidentals and emergency needs. It took a while, but I eventually convinced myself that I wanted to be in control and not forsake my financial future in order to make some fat cat corporate slug rich.

Stop Watching TV!!!

"Tell-a-vision" was designed to distract the common people from thinking about things in life that really matter, like their lives. It's a method of systematically dumbing down the senses and causing you to become addicted to artificial images and more susceptible to coercion. The cabal of corporations, advertising agencies, sports team owners, news agencies, etc. want themselves to think for you. They seduce you into buying into lifestyles that rob you of your financial future. By dumbing you down they get to sell you beer (which makes you slow and stupid - easier to be programmed that way), designer clothes, the false belief that money is something to be won or gotten by games of chance, etc. Also, it's a means by which marketers can get access to your children at that tender young age where their major belief systems are formed. As a surrogate to responsible parenting, the marketers get to convince your children that they need this and they need that. It's getting out of hand and by turning off the television you get to slowly deprogram yourself of the wasteful advertising garbage that you intake that induces you to spend your money. Plus, by not watching TV you get to read those books you've been putting off or to get some exercise.

How to use this blog to help you

Welcome to my blog about getting out of debt. Being in debt fricken sucks! I know because I was there at one point, for a long time, and have finally been working to get myself out. Being in debt means you postpone your life in favor of your current consumption. It means having to suffer with a commute you hate, to go to a job that you hate, and to make money to pay off the credit (debt) that you accumulated through conspicuous consumption. It means you end up living a life under someone else's control instead of you being able to dictate what you do, when you do it, how you do it, and with or without whom you do it. It means sacrificing your time with you family in favor of pleasing the money grabbers in life and being nickel-dimed continuously until you almost can't take it anymore. I'm going to write about how I'm getting out of debt in the hopes that you will glean some insights into how you may do the same. This is going to be shotgun debt counseling, words spoken true by someone who's been in your situation. I'm not going to pay much attention to grammar as my words will flow freely onto the page without much editing. I'm speaking from my heart and want you to know there's always a way out if you're willing to take the action necessary. You might even find the process fun, knowing you're building or rebuilding your net worth by paying off those lingering bills, or by saving your money instead of spending it on that stupid worthless piece of crap that Madison Avenue is trying to tell you you'll looking good wearing or carrying. Please submit comments and suggestions as you wish.
